Second phase of the Uptown project consists of the construction of a 880,000 sq.ft. upscale commercial shopping center including 200, 000 sq.ft. of commercial spaces and 6 levels of parking spaces. Some of the buildings will receive the LEED certification.
Construction Management is a staple service provided by Magil Construction Corporation. Nearly 60 percent of their work in the past 25 years has been delivered using Construction Management, often with repeat clients.
Our involvement at the Uptown outdoor shopping mall started with a large renovation contract. The lease signing of H&M, Forever 21, and Joe Fresh necessitated the addition of elevators and escalators for which we had to move heating, plumbing and ventilation systems and add in new plumbing to serve two floors of retail per tenant. The mall owners and contractors were very pleased with our work and since then our involvement at Uptown has grown to include new projects including the retail unit for Kids and Co daycare and the Municipal Finance Authority offices. In addition City Service Plumbing has been hired to do landlord upgrades including heat pump work, gas line extensions, the fire bowl on level four and the piping of the fountain feature at the clock tower. We continue to get the call for upgrades and changes as the project is evolving.
